別再用“Just so so”表示“一般般”了,老外才不這么說(shuō)呢

Just so-so到底實(shí)不實(shí)用?

我們來(lái)看一位母語(yǔ)是英語(yǔ)的人對(duì)just so-so的理解

PaulQ

"Just so so" is not a set expression or idiom as far as I am aware. "So-so" by itself is set phrase. See this definition (and the second example) from the Oxford dictionary:

據(jù)我所知,“Just so so”并不是一個(gè)固定的表達(dá)方式或習(xí)語(yǔ)。So-so是固定用語(yǔ)。參見(jiàn)牛津詞典中的這個(gè)定義(和第二個(gè)例子)

so-so

adj.

between average quality and low quality; not good or well

一般(的),不好不壞(的)

?a so-so performance

一般的表現(xiàn)

?"How are you getting along with your new boss?" "So-so."

“你和新老板相處得如何?”“馬馬虎虎。”

However, although one might say "Just so-so" meaning something like "only, or not better than, average", it is not an idiom or set collocation of words, so I agree that you are not likely to hear it very often.

I can take it or leave it.

said about something that you like, but that you do not love or need strongly.

要不要都可以;接不接受都可以

A common expression for describing something that you don't absolutely hate, but also don't really like, is "I can take it or leave it."

一個(gè)常用的用來(lái)描述一件你不怎么討厭又不怎么喜歡的東西的表達(dá),是“I can take it or leave it.”。

Q: Do you like your English class?

你喜歡你的英語(yǔ)課嗎?

A: Yes, I love it.

是的,我愛(ài)上英語(yǔ)課。

Q: What about physics?

那物理呢?

A: Ugh! I hate physics.

啊!我討厭物理。

Q: How about history?

那歷史呢?

A: I can take it or leave it.

就一般吧。

今天的內(nèi)容都學(xué)會(huì)了么?

歡迎評(píng)論交流心得~
