play it by ear

由此意引申出來后,"play by ear"強調事件的“即興”成分,沒有計劃、依據當時情況而行事(to let things go as they may),很有“邊走邊看吧,走著瞧,隨機應變”的味道。

例:

We can't make a decision yet. Let's just play it by ear.

It's your choice/call.

A: What should I cook for dinner tonight?

B: It's your call. I'm actually not that hungry.

rain check

A:How about a cup of coffee?

B:Rain check

have it your way

To do what one wants or maintain a situation as desired. Typically used as an imperative when the speaker is irritated, often because their advice is being ignored.

Fine, have it your way—sit in the sun. But I won't be the one slathering aloe on you if you get sunburned!

I'm cool with it.

That/it is acceptable to me; I'm OK with that/it.

Yeah, we could leave later - I'm cool with that.
